Lenten Journey at Faith
Our Lenten Journey at Faith begins Ash Wednesday (February 22) at 7 pm. We are doing a program from Creative Communications for the Parish called Jerusalem at Passover. We are "touring" the Holy City. We will have the "tour guide" describing events as they happen from within the sanctuary, but all the voices will be distant, like an old time radio show. We will have to use our imaginations, and then we will have to sort out the meaning of what we have seen and heard.
First Stop (Ash Wednesday) We will visit the Temple (just in time to hear someone tearing apart the market in the Temple!).
Sunday nights at 6:30 pm (after a Soup and Bread Supper at 5:30 pm), we will continue our tour.
Second Stop (Feb. 26): We get to observe (from a distance) a Passover celebration in progress – but instead of a family with women and kids, this one is just 12 men.
Third Stop (March 4): We will visit the Mount of Olives (just in time to witness a mob arresting someone).
Fourth Stop (March 11): We will tour Caiaphas' Palace (where the Sanhedrin is holding a rare night time court session).
Fifth Stop (March 18): We will go to Pilate's Fortress Antonia (where we hear him washing his hands of some matter or other).
Sixth Stop (March 25): Finally, we end up on the Hill of the Skull, where we expect a gorgeous panoramic view of the Holy City, but it is dark in the middle of the afternoon, and we find we have just missed a crucifixion event.
